Footnote

Footnote was the theme of the 2011 graduation exhibition for the Hong Kong Art School. The concept symbolizes the graduates’ individual perspectives on art, represented by diverse footnotes, each uniquely shaped to reflect the students’ interpretations and creative works.

The key visual features distinct footnotes, each with varying angles and facets, symbolizing the graduates’ diverse interpretations of art and their unique creative journeys. These elements represent how each student approaches and contributes to the world of art from their own perspective.

The graduation catalogue further celebrates individuality with over 30 unique jackets, each tailored to highlight a graduate as the protagonist of their artistic narrative. Beneath the custom covers, the book reveals a unified visual representation of how their interpretations collectively contribute to the art community. This design captures the essence of Footnote—both as a reflection on their formative journey and as a humble yet confident step into their future as emerging artists.
