In 2022, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence underwent a rebranding initiative to strengthen its identity as a military museum and enhance the visitor experience. The rebranding included a new logo inspired by the fort’s loopholes, symbolising the museum’s role in revealing historical narratives while simultaneously modernising its image.
The new “MCD” logo incorporates a distinct space between the “C” and “D,” directly inspired by the loopholes in the fort’s walls. These loopholes, historically used for defense and observation, now symbolise the museum’s unique perspective on history.
