HKIA 11'

The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards 2011 explores the concept of space through a bold and innovative design approach. The theme emphasizes the architectural interplay of dimensions, form, and transparency, creating a visually striking and conceptually cohesive report.

The design explores the theme of space through innovative materials and forms. The book features a black-on-black hot-stamped cover with the word “HKIA2011”. Its transparent bookcase, adorned with orange grid lines, interacts with the book to form a striking three-dimensional spatial illusion when combined. This dynamic visual experience is further enhanced by the hexagonal die-cut shape of the book, which reinforces the concept of multidimensionality. The orange grid identity is echoed throughout the dividers, tying the design elements together and emphasizing the interplay between structure and space.
