HKIA 11'
Project by c plus c workshop
An exploration of space defined the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards 2011, realised through a bold and innovative design approach. The theme, emphasising the architectural interplay of dimensions, form, and transparency, resulted in a visually striking and conceptually cohesive report. Innovative materials and forms were employed to bring the theme to life. A black-on-black hot-stamped cover, featuring the “HKIA2011” mark, provided a tactile introduction. The book’s transparent bookcase, adorned with vibrant orange grid lines, interacted with the book itself to create a dynamic three-dimensional spatial illusion. This visual experience was further enhanced by the book’s hexagonal die-cut shape, reinforcing the concept of multidimensionality. The orange grid identity was consistently echoed throughout the dividers, unifying the design elements and underscoring the interplay between structure and space.
