Muse Fest 2019, themed “Curating the New,” invites visitors to explore the transformative journeys of museums and how they adapt to contemporary needs. This year’s festival emphasises the evolving role of museums in offering fresh experiences and perspectives to the public. The design for Muse Fest 2019 draws inspiration from the architecture of various museums, including the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Science Museum, and the Heritage Museum, among others.
The typography, featuring the Chinese characters 「變新」, plays on the dual meaning of transformation and renewal. Each character visually transforms from one museum to another, symbolising the dynamic evolution of these cultural spaces. This integration of architectural elements with the fluid typography represents the festival’s focus on innovation and transformation, inviting visitors to engage with the ever-evolving landscape of museum culture.
